My Role

Innovation Lead / Head of Product

Responsible for the revamp and development of Gabber into GabberGPT, integrating ChatGPT-powered AI personalities to enhance user engagement across various platforms and products.

  • Collaborated with AI engineers to integrate ChatGPT with the existing Gabber platform, ensuring seamless communication between systems.
  • Designed and supervised the development of custom AI personality modules, leveraging the capabilities of ChatGPT to create engaging and diverse virtual assistants.
  • Worked closely with data teams to analyse and optimise the performance of AI personalities, ensuring their effectiveness in user engagement.
  • Defined and managed API requirements for GabberGPT, ensuring a well-documented API to facilitate future integrations and extensions.
  • Spearheading the integration of various loyalty platforms to reward user engagement and drive customer loyalty.

This marked the third iteration of Gabber, evolving from its initial release in 2018 and later version in 2021 utilising Google’s NLP API.

GabberGTP is the next generation of conversational AI with customisable personalities. There are four fundamental principles that differentiate these personalities and become more evident as users engage.

Conversational Tone

Rather than sounding robotic, personalities sound more like a friendly and approachable assistant. This conversational tone can help users feel more comfortable engaging with the AI.

GabberGPT allows brands to configure their AI interactions to match their tone and voice. With four distinct levels to choose from, brands can select a personality that best suits their needs, whether that be professional and formal, friendly and casual, edgy and bold, or even savage and unfiltered.

Professional

This level is suited for formal and serious interactions, where a tone of respect and authority is required. It uses precise language and avoids colloquialisms or slang. It’s great for business and financial apps, legal services, or healthcare providers.

Friendly

This level is more relaxed and approachable, using conversational language and humor to build a connection with the user. It’s perfect for social media platforms, customer service chatbots, or lifestyle apps.

Edgy

This level has a bold and unconventional tone, often using humor or sarcasm to surprise and engage the user. It’s ideal for entertainment and gaming apps, youth-oriented brands, or marketing campaigns that want to stand out from the crowd.

Savage

This level is unfiltered and can be abrasive, using blunt language or even profanity to motivate or challenge the user. It’s not suitable for all brands, but can be effective for fitness apps, personal coaching or self-help services, or brands that want to create a strong emotional response.

Original Gabber 2018

Gabber chatbot was originally created in 2018 to work alongside web and mobile applications and provide customer service and support. It included three basic personalities with third-party integrations and custom-developed applications as per client requirements.

In 2021, Gabber underwent a significant redevelopment using Google’s NLP API with the intention of achieving a level of intelligence and sophistication that only ChatGPT could provide. The new Gabber is now more intuitive, efficient, and effective at engaging with customers and delivering exceptional experiences and results.

Let the AI assistant do 80% of the work

Up to 80% of customer interactions are repetitive. Gabber does most of the typing, and it’s fast too, ensuring your customers receive quick support.

Call in the pros in the rest 20% of interactions

Whenever a situation arises where the chatbots can’t deal with the matter in hand, they will call in a human to help with the situation.

Your first line of customer service

With Gabber, users are met by a selection of robot helpers with their own personailities; including Sparks, Clank and Tinks. They’re all happy to help.
